Testimonial: Sina from Germany

“I was part of the desert hiking trip in October 2019 together with a friend and had an unforgettable time.

All in all, the atmosphere was very familial and I learned a lot about the nomad life, mostly because the guides were super authentic. The desert is just fantastic and much more divers than I had imagined. All in all, I can only recommend this tour – also as a detox from everyday life and being available at all times!”

I was part of the desert hiking trip in October 2019 together with a friend and had an unforgettable time. The tour was really well organized, from airport pick up, organizing a Riad for the first night, transport to the starting point as well as back to Marrakech at the end and of course the time in the desert itself.

The well-oiled team was friendly, cordial, open, took good care of us and made all our wishes come true. Communcation was possible in German, English and French.

To ease us into the desert, we spent the first night in a desert auberge before moving into the tent for the rest of the trip. The team made sure to adapt to the weather conditions, so that despite the very high temperatures, the hiking was always pleasant and doable.

The food was top level – for breakfast we had traditional Berber bread, baked in the hot sand the evening before. We got fruit, nuts and dates for snacks, lunch was a lovingly arranged salad (mostly with a warm component) and for dinner we had tajines or other morrocan dishes.

It was always made sure that we drank enough and we were also served tea multiple times a day. 🙂 All in all the atmosphere was very familial and I learned a lot about the nomad life, mostly because the guides were super authentic and patiently answered all our questions. Quickly they took my fear of scorpions, snakes and other dangers away because they had a plan for every eventuality.

The desert is just fantastic and much more divers than I had imagined. We crossed high sand dunes, rocky desert, dried river beds and areas full of bushes. We found shadow under Acacia trees. Every now and then we ran into camel herds with their “sheperds” and even a few nomad families. Every evening you see awesome sunsets and thousands of stars.

All in all I can only recommend this tour – also as a detox from every day life and being available at all times! 😉
